The Cobb County Police Department is known throughout the Southeast for our commitment to professionalism, public trust, and excellence in performance. Our training program surpasses all requirements mandated by state regulations and delivers high credentials that our personnel are known for around the country.

If you are selected to be part of our team, you will participate in a paid comprehensive training program that will provide a solid foundation of job knowledge, firearms training, tactical skills, and physical fitness.

The Cobb County Police Department has its own P.O.S.T. certified expanded mandate school which features a rigorous 5 month curriculum supplemented with practical scenarios, defensive tactics, and firearms training. After successfully completing the academy, recruits will be assigned to a Field Training Officer at one of our five precincts where they will receive additional training in the field lasting approximately 12 weeks. Once this phase has been completed, recruits transition to solo status for an additional 6 weeks of direct observation by the shift sergeant.

For our non-resident applicants, we understand the challenges associated with relocation and will be happy to assist you with information regarding your concerns.
